CONCH PIERCING JEWELERY
Conch Piercing - versatile, elegant and expressive
A conch piercing goes through the inner part of the ear – an area with plenty of space for creative jewelry choices! Once healed, you can wear classic studs in vaxrious sizes or eye-catching hoops.
Although the cartilage feels thick, many people find the piercing no more painful than a helix piercing. Choosing high-quality materials like titanium or solid gold supports a smooth healing process. Want to learn more about aftercare? Check out our piercing blog.
Conch Piercing vs Orbital Piercing
A common misconception: when a hoop is worn in a conch piercing, it’s often mistakenly called an orbital. However, an orbital piercing connects two separate holes with one ring – for example in the helix or earlobe. A conch piercing involves just a single channel.
Inner vs Outer Conch
The classic inner conch piercing sits in the center of the ear, making it ideal for larger jewelry pieces with higher profiles that sit comfortably in the natural “dip” of the ear.
The outer conch (also called flat helix or scapha) is placed higher and is more exposed, so flatter jewelry is usually more practical for everyday wear.
Tip: Just because a piece fits in size doesn’t mean it’s ideal for your lifestyle. If you often wear a helmet, for instance, make sure your jewelry is comfortable, secure, and doesn’t irritate your piercing. Good jewelry should look amazing and work for your day-to-day life.
